This week, member spotlight is on Kathy Adams and Branan Lodge, LLC.

Branan Lodge provides easy living in the North Georgia Mountains. Retirees enjoy secure, spacious living in a quiet, rustic atmosphere. Options are available for each individual’s needs and interests. Branan Lodge offers spacious one and two bedroom apartments featuring fully-equipped kitchens, full baths, carpeting, draperies, roomy closets, individually controlled heat and air, central smoke alarms, emergency pull cords, sprinkler systems, and private balconies. Branan Lodge also offers the opportunity for senior citizens to lead an independent life with a close network of friends and acquaintances nearby.

Available services include optional noon time meals, a beauty shop, laundry facilities, a library, cable TV, a 24 hour emergency response system, and fun recreational activities. Utilities are included in the rent and local transportation is available to all the nearby stores and services.

Service Coordinator Kathy Adams says, “I enjoy helping the residents of Branan Lodge live an active, healthy life. I help these men and women obtain the services they need and want while maintaining their personal dignity and quality of life.” She adds, “We help residents increase social interaction and build support networks with other residents, family, and friends. We offer on-going supportive programs such as Defensive Driving classes, foot care, flu shots, meal services, and learning workshops. Our workshops have addressed everything from allergy and sinus problems to legal services and senior employment.”

Kathy Adams has been at Branan Lodge for over twelve years. With a background in social work and psychology, she has more than twenty years experience working with families, children, and of course, seniors. Kathy is also actively involved in Habitat for Humanity where she serves as Media Team Caption for the Women’s Build program. She is also a founding member of the Union County Interagency Group.

Branan Lodge is a blessing to active seniors that may otherwise feel isolated and alone. Branan Lodge accepts residents who are age 62 or older. The monthly rental rate varies according to individual incomes. Branan Lodge is managed by Wesley Woods, Inc., located in Atlanta, Georgia. They operate eight additional residential facilities for older adults in central and north Georgia. Wesley Woods has been a leader in the field of aging and health for over 25 years.
